Trip report #7 – Seattle region (but first an update about our whereabouts)

I’m guessing I’m not the only parent of grown children who walks the balance beam of being happy those children are living busy, full and independent lives but also wishing they would check in a little more often. My daughter, Stacy, who lives across the country in Tennessee, and I have a way of reaching out to one another when the need to communicate arises. One of us – usually me – will text the other – usually her – with this simple message:  “Are you in a ditch?” That’s code for “please call me and check in so I know you’re ok.”
